Our Chief Mining Engineer, Stevie Davidson has worked in India for several years managing the Adriyala long wall project for SCCL and a number of CM commissioning projects for Komatsu. He was team leader on the Kapuria DPR for AMR, a BCCSL project through which he had extensive interaction with DGMS and CMPDI.
Key points to note include:

Team leader in mine design and planning of the most effective lay out and operational system for continuous miner operations.

Developed new methods to improve extraction rates by splitting and de-pillaring. This also included the use of shortwall mining to extract barrier pillars, Colombia.

Providing a range of technical services to oversee the development of two decline drivages Mandla North mine, India.

Team lead during the Detailed Project Report (DPR) which included two surface decline drivages, one shaft and in-seam infrastructure over a four-year construction phase before commencing a nine-year annual production period producing at a rate of 2mtpa from a single longwall strategy, Kapuria, India.

Planned and implemented mine expansion and improvement strategies for several underground mines in India.

Providing consultancy to mine management on the implementation of Health and Safety strategies, at two coal mines owned and operated by Tata steel, India.

Mining Engineer Carried out a review of client’s conceptual mine plan for an underground project in Wani North Area, India as part of their technical bid to develop the concession.

Project manager at Adriyala coal mine responsible for the operational and service contract of the first high-capacity longwall coal face to operate in India.

Project manager at Adriyala coal mine, India on the Komatsu bolter miner. Results included, a new shift development drivage record, a new daily drivage record was set, a new monthly development record for the project was set and the bolter miner hourly performance achieved the targets set at the outset of the project.
