Paddy McManus

Paddy McManus brings over 40 years of experience across mining, mines rescue, and health and safety. Beginning his career at Donisthorpe and Asfordby collieries, he went on to dedicate three decades to Mines Rescue, rising from Rescue Brigadesman to Operations Manager.

He has led rescue operations, managed training centres, developed safety programmes, and delivered specialist instruction in high-risk environments across the UK and internationally. More recently, Paddy has worked with Anglo American and Redpath, continuing to share his knowledge as a trainer and assessor.

Paddy’s career demonstrates a lifelong commitment to competence, resilience, and creating safer workplaces in mining and beyond.
