About Matt

Matt Wilmot is a mining professional with over 20 years’ experience in operational roles and project development. A qualified Mine Surveyor, he has worked at the UK’s only operational potash/polyhalite mine and held senior technical roles on Anglo American’s Woodsmith Project.

He is experienced in mine planning, surveying, technical services management and leading multi-disciplinary teams. Matt has introduced innovative technologies such as drone surveying and InSAR monitoring and has played key roles in feasibility studies, planning approvals and construction phases for major international projects.

Key points to note include:

• Technical Services Manager for Emmerson Plc’s Khemisset Project in Morocco, leading engineering design, scheduling and consultancy input.

• Former Chief Mine Surveyor and Chief Mine Planning Engineer at Anglo American’s Woodsmith Project, overseeing surveying, mine planning and infrastructure design.

• Significant operational experience at Boulby Mine, including roles as Chief and Section Surveyor.

• Qualified Mine Surveyor (Certificate No. 0224) and graduate of Camborne School of Mines.

• NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health – Distinction.

• Member of the Association of Camborne School of Mines (ACSM).
